The Philosophy
A Different Kind of Retreat
I've noticed that so many retreats focus on helping us become a better version of ourselves. While there's absolutely a place for that, that's not what I wanted to create here.
I wanted one evening where we could simply enjoy being together.
We'll share a beautiful meal, have meaningful conversations, celebrate, play, laugh, and make room for the kind of moments we rarely create for ourselves anymore.
There are a few intentional experiences woven into the evening, but this isn't about fixing yourself. It's about giving yourself permission to enjoy life a little more.
The Setting
One night. One extraordinary house.
You'll spend the evening in a private 12,000+ square-foot waterfront estate overlooking the Potomac.
Not a hotel ballroom. Not a conference center. Not a retreat facility.
A beautiful home, shared with a small group of women, where the evening can unfold naturally — panoramic water views, quiet rooms, a two-story great room, spa-style baths, and space to simply be.

Who It's For
This evening is for you if…
- You spend most of your time taking care of everyone else.
- You can't remember the last time you dressed up just because it was fun.
- You're craving meaningful conversation without needing to make it productive.
- You want to meet women who are in a similar season of life.
- You don't need another workshop, strategy session, or five-step plan.
- You just want one beautiful night to enjoy being alive.
The Evening
The Experience
5:00 PM | Arrival
The evening begins as everyone arrives, settles into their rooms, and gets comfortable before we gather together.
Dinner
We’ll share a beautiful dinner, meaningful conversation, and a few intentional moments that make the evening feel special.
After Dinner
We’ll change into our favorite silk sets or elevated sleepwear, grab a dessert, pour another drink (or tea), and ease into the most relaxed part of the evening. This is where the games come out, the conversations continue, and the night unfolds naturally. There will be music, laughter, and plenty of room to simply enjoy the moment.
Sunday Morning
We’ll enjoy a slow morning with light pastries and fresh fruit before checking out at 11:00 AM.
The rest of the evening is intentionally left open. Some of the best memories happen when there’s nowhere else you need to be.

A Meaningful Moment
The Becoming Toast
At one point during the evening, we’ll gather for something I call The Becoming Toast.
We'll pause to celebrate who we've been, who we're becoming, and everything that's still possible.
You won't need to prepare anything. You won't be asked to perform, or to share anything you're not comfortable sharing.
It's simply a moment to raise a glass and remember one thing:
Your life is happening now.
From the Host
Why I Created This
I created A Beautiful Pause because every year around my birthday, I find myself reflecting on how quickly life moves.
We spend so much time working, taking care of everyone else, and moving from one responsibility to the next that joy can quietly become something we keep postponing.
I didn't want another event where everyone walked away with more work to do. I wanted one beautiful evening where we could slow down, enjoy ourselves, and remember that celebrating life is important too.
If you leave with new memories, meaningful connections, and a smile on your face, then this evening will have been everything I hoped it would be.
With love — Hennrietta
The Details
What Awaits You
Your $397 covers the whole experience — the room, the dinner, the house, the slow morning after, and the thoughtful touches woven throughout.

A relaxed Sunday morning with a beautiful breakfast spread and nowhere you need to rush off to.
The house itself
12,000+ square feet of private waterfront space, Potomac views, quiet corners, and room to simply be.
Thoughtful touches throughout
Beautiful printed materials, a curated gift bag, a meaningful keepsake from the evening, and little surprises woven into the night.
A captured memory
Professional photography so you can be fully present — and still have the moments to keep.
Exceptional hospitality
Every detail handled with care, so all you have to do is arrive, settle in, and enjoy.
The rest? We'll keep that as part of the experience.
Coming On Your Own?
You don't need to know anyone to come.
Come with your best friend. Come with your sister. Or come by yourself.
You won't be the woman standing awkwardly in a corner wondering who to talk to. The evening is intentionally designed so connection happens naturally — and many of the women who come will be arriving on their own too.
If you're joining solo, I'll thoughtfully pair you with another guest. Some of the best friendships start exactly that way.
More Than a Memory
You'll leave with more than a beautiful memory.
You'll leave with women.
Women you laughed with.
Women you shared a table with.
Women who listened.
Women who reminded you that you're not the only one navigating this season of life.
A Beautiful Pause is intentionally intimate, creating space for genuine connection — not forced networking, not exchanging business cards, and not another room full of strangers making small talk.
Just women, together, having a beautiful night.
And when the weekend is over, you'll take home a thoughtfully curated gift to remember it by — and a new circle of women you may be very glad you met.
